PROSPER International is kicking off its first major fund raiser for constructing a proper school building for Al-Sadiq Public School in KathGarh Saadaat in Dera Ismail Khan District in KPK province. History and Acheivements The school is currently housed in a mud-brick building and has far out-run its capacity to cater to education needs of youth in Kathgarh Saadat and near-by villages. The school was started in 2007 by Brother Syed Jamshed Naqvi on a piece of land donated by _____.

The school has since expanded from Grade 4 to Grade 9. Major acheivements of the present administration include the following.

• Addition of a class each year.
• Increase of student strength from xxx to yyy.
• Regular training of teaching staff to equip them with modern teaching methodology.
• Increase in monthly pay of teaching staff from a minimum pay of PKR 2000/- to a minimum pay of PKR xxxx.
• Enhancement of minimum qualification of teaching staff from F.Sc. to B.Sc.
• Introducing a proper school uniform and providing free and discounted uniforms to needy students.
• Addition of proper sanitation facilities through the construction of x number of restooms.
• Installing ceiling fans in each classroom.
• Providing clean drinking water facility to students and staff.
• Installing solar powered ceiling fans and light – load shedding being a major concern in such remote areas.
• Addition of Computer, Physics and Chemistry labs for middle school students.
• Integrated quality modern secular education with religious and social education.

All these acheivements have become possible by the self-less dedication of the current administration and equally importantly by the generous financial support of countless donors in Pakistan and US. The school is currently housed in a couple of rented mud-brick houses and an open area (serving as playground for kids). The current setup is unable to support the existing and future education needs of the local population, and urgently needs to be relocated to a proper school building.

Future plans

PROSPER INTERNATIONAL, a registered 501(c)(3), IS SEEKING FUNDS to materialize the dreams of the local population to have access to quality education at affordable cost. With the help of present school administration, and education experts, PROSPER International has come up with a three-Phase plan to have a comprehensive education facility for youth of Kathgarh Sadaat and adjoining villages. When completed inshallah, the school will be cater to 1600 students from Montessori to Intermediate (Grade 12). It will consist of a co-education Junior Section (Montessori to Grade 4) and two separate (boys and girls) Senior Sections (Grade 5 to Grade 12). The school will also have a boarding facility to cater to students coming from farther villages. Please see (link) for details on the three-Phase plan. Phase I, to be completed inshallah by March 2016, will consist of acquiring 40 kanal (~218,000 sqft) land (enough for all three phases) and construction of 20,000 sqft of building space to house 26 classrooms, 3 labs, 3 offices and 1 staff room. Once completed, inshallah, the facility will be able to cater to more than 780 students from Montessori to Grade 10.
